Profile
Frank is a Project Engineer working on complex marine technical projects. His role goes beyond engineering design: he is involved from planning and estimation through design coordination and procurement to installation and onsite execution.
At LTH-Baas he works on cruise ship drydocks and newbuilds for Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises. Technical experience covers HVAC, piping and exhaust piping, exhaust and incinerator-related systems, and technical equipment and system integration. Alongside design review and technical documentation he prepares estimates, material calculations and BOMs, coordinates procurement, communicates with clients, and supports installation and problem-solving onsite, keeping engineering, procurement, production, site teams and the client aligned.
Before LTH-Baas he made 3D models, production drawings and BOMs at the Marketex Marine shipyard. He has a B.Sc. in Materials Engineering from TalTech, with a 100/100 thesis on robotic welding, and is studying for an M.Sc. in Product Development and Production Engineering.

Bachelor's thesis
Optimization of the Robotic Welding Process in Production: Integration of a Suitable Laser Vision Sensor to a Robotic Welding Station
The thesis set out to make robotic welding more efficient and more precise by adding a suitable laser vision sensor to the welding station. The work covered technical analysis, sensor selection, system integration and practical evaluation, and measurably improved welding accuracy and process automation.
- 01Technical analysisMapping the existing station, joints and failure points
- 02Sensor selectionComparing laser vision sensors against production requirements
- 03System integrationConnecting sensor, robot controller and welding process
- 04Practical evaluationMeasuring accuracy and automation gains on the station
Pipe puzzle
Connect the chilled water line from the chiller to the air handling unit. Click a segment to rotate it; the line fills green as it connects.
Click a segment to rotate it 90°.
Outside work
Outside work, Frank does glacier mountaineering: roped travel, crampons, ice axe, early starts.
